The Lennon Kelly project came to life in 2011 among the green hills of Romagna and through a common interest in folk music, Irish music and Romagna folk music of the seven members of the band. The band’s first groundwork date back in 2010 indeed, on a summer holiday where Vasco “Bartowski” Abbondanza and Mirco “Circo” Turci started to play the first Lennon Kelly songs. After that Costantino “Roman” Valentini, Alessandro “Pobre” Valentini, Cristofer “Cisti” Graffieti, Enrico “Perry” Ricci and Davide “Davino” Paci joined the band.
This is the brand new album of Lennon Kelly and it is called “Malanotte”. An entirely Italian album – all lyrics are in Italian. But – the style of the music is Irish Folk. Sounds odd? Well yeah, in a way it does. But you Irish Folk fans will not mind. The rhythms of the songs are fast and thriving. The melodies will pull you along and the beat will get you tapping along at least. Eleven songs of energy will not let you down.
Lennon Kelly might be an unknown band name for many of you. But the music deserves to be heard. Especially amongst you Irish Folk lovers. So go ahead and check out this brand new release by these Italians: “Malanotte”.
