Most people know him as a jazz musician which leads a trio under his name. The passion for the music started at age 6 and never stopped. Anno 2018 we get more of it into the world by the release of the album “Steamdome”.
It has been about three years ago that the album “The Mechanical Fair” came out. The album received good critics and now a new one sees light. It is described as ‘thoroughly percussive’ music and about it Ola himself tells that it is ‘more limitless and more brazen’ than previous projects. The previous releases are not in our catalogue but we can tell you that this release certainly has a broad approach. It feels quite open and light to listen to. Building tensions and smoothly releasing it and the playfulness of which Ola takes you through the tracks is inspiring. Three drummers were part of the album and together with an organist, a bassist and a guitarist Ola collected a nice bunch of musicians next to him.
The album listens easily, you flow right through it and is certainly a nice one to listen to. For the average rock/metalhead listener it may be a bridge too far, but prog fans will certainly see themselves enjoying this release as well.
