Kryptonite is a Swedish formation that has been set up by The Poodles vocalist Jake Samuels and some of his friends. The collaboration resulted in a self titled release that is available now.
It all starts with the rather melodic sound you may expect from this package, but it appear to be a surprise in some way. The songs, surely not something you have not heard before, are brought with some skills, which makes it stand out above others in this genre. The songs are catchy and a song like “Across the Water” is stuck after the first play. Would be a great single! As well as its follow up “Love Can Be Stronger”.
After that the surprise falls off a bit and the songs are not jumping out as much anymore, but still pleasant to listen to. It seems like the match made with this release is one that works quite well and hopefully they remain together for another release where they can built out what they have set here to a slight more comprehensive sound, giving just a slight bit more of these songs that we mentioned before and then we would have an album that breaks the internet.
For now we are satisfied, the album is fine and shows potential. Let’s see if a follow up is in the making.
