The 69 Eyes are back in Germany for a few dates. And along they took the Canadian band Nim Vind. Both bands are brilliant and a good match for that matter. Tonight, the combo hit Nuremberg. The venue was filling up quickly. The audience was mixed. Young and old fans, mainstream and gothic fans. Everyone was excited to see the two bands perform tonight.

Nim VindThe first band went on shortly after doors open. But only so they could play longer: Nim Vind was eager to get up there and play. Nim Vind is a Canadian music group that has come to existence in some time in 2003.

Some of the audience might not have heard of these fellas before. But shortly after Nim Vind began playing, everyone was convinced of the talent this trio has got and danced along to the music. Nim Vind has three albums out so far and they played songs off all three of them.

The music of the Canadians was catchy. Varying in speed and style, you can consider them Horrorpunk but their music lies beyond that one genre. The lyrics carry a certain depth that you will find yourself sinking into. And that is pretty much what happened to the audience. They sunk into the music of Nim Vind and the performance of the guys.

The singer and founder of the band talked to the fans and guests in between the songs, telling stories about his life or the next song. Sometimes he was also talking about the world we live in and what the future could bring.

Nim Vind The band was very passionate about their music and spontaneously decided on songs they would play next. It was an amazing set that lasted for well more than forty minutes, playing a well selection of their best songs. A show that was blowing the audience’s mind. But the singer announced, that they would be available for a chat as well as pictures and signatures after the show.

Meeting point for that was the merchandising stand which you would find ‘if you just follow the light’, as the singer described it. Many of tonight’s visitors would follow that advice and would have a little meet and greet with this amazing trio that is very down to earth and friendly.

After a change over it was time for the main act of the night: The 69 Eyes, our beloved Helsinki Vampires, were about to enter the stage. The 69 Eyes are a multi-platinum selling Finnish rock band. They are currently signed to EMI Finland. The band’s albums are now distributed worldwide.

The End Records acts as the band’s official North American distributor, as Nuclear Blast Records provides distribution in Europe. Australia will be handled by AmpHead Music. All Asian and Latin American releases are handled by EMI affiliates.

Just this year, the band had released a brand new album. This release is called “Universal Monsters”. This is their twelfth album. The 69 Eyes were founded in 1989 and have been rocking ever since. That might also be the reason why the audience was of such a mixed age. The old school 69 Eyes were taking their children.

As The 69 Eyes entered the stage, the cheering was immense. Everyone was happy to see the Finns. And the Finns were happy to see all of us that came out to the Hirsch tonight, ready to rock. The drummer had to be replaced by the roadie on short notice. Apparently because the drummer Jussi had a medical emergency and could not perform to night. But the other vampires made up for that by performing even stronger and more passionate.

The guys played songs off all albums but it seemed as if they played more of the older songs. But the audience did not care. They loved each song the Finns were playing. They sang along loud and danced along without standing still for a second. The band tried to get the audience to go along more and more, and succeeded.

It was an amazing show and an amazing night. Both bands did their best to blow everyone’s minds. If you have not heard of either band, check them out and make sure to rock with them when they are nearby.
