Subterranean Street Society is a Danish street musician called Louis that after doing several things is now ready for the release of a solo album. “I’ll Leave Me Before You Do”.
The package you get this cd with is made much interesting. A box looking like an envelope, stamped even, and when you open it you get a bunch of paper that look like handwritten lyrics, a colourful cd and a key. The key is a bit of a miracle at the start, and then it turns out the written story aren’t really lyrics so much not telling it completely. But when you are listening to the songs, reading this letter you will get the red thread of the album. A tortured soul, matters of the heart are the theme of this release and towards the end you feel more and more sorry for the guy.
What comes to notice is that there is plenty of attention put on the rest of the music. It’s not that minimal and therefore the songs get much more drama and make that you keep interested throughout the whole track list.
“I’ll Leave Me Before You Do” has a bit of a sad undertone but the warm sound of it makes you compassionate. A nice album that listens well.
