Albany Down – Not Over Yet

Albany Down – Not Over Yet

Releasedate:
By: Sabine van Gameren

Albany Down is an English band making a combination of Rock and Blues. The band released two full lengths and is now releasing a new EP called “Not Over Yet”.

Blues, Rock… you could expect the album to be one that doesn’t come down easy, but Albany Down is lighter than expected. With a fresh and modern look on the sound they like, being inspired by acts like Led Zeppelin, they manage to make their sound very anno 2015.
Songwriting is a point they make the credits with, the riffs are well placed in the music making it stand when needed but not taking over. A refrain often comes with a little catchiness and they easily score with titles “Not Over Yet” and “Working Man”, having the words that address many in their hands to open themselves up to wide audience.
Five songs are simply a teaser, that must be said, the guys show with them a sense of diversity that indicates there is a whole lot more in them that needs to be brought out. We wonder what would happen when they take the whole experiment of defining themselves further and flirt with the borders of their sound, crisscross them and then maybe jump back. They seem to be capable of creating a dynamic release and we can’t wait to hear more.

Line up:
Paul Muir – vocals,
Paul Turley – guitar,
Billy Dedman – bass,
Donna Peters – drums
