25-03-2015 Hardcore Superstar

Supports: Nitrodive; Venue: Alte Seilerei Mannheim (Germany)
By: Nina Mende

Tonight’s place to be: Alte Seilerei in Mannheim. Nitrodive and Hardcore Superstar were rocking the stage tonight with quite some followers. The venue was quite filled as Nitrodive entered the stage.

NitrodiveYou never heard of Nitrodive? Nitrodive first started to make a name for themselves in early 2009 when they released their EP called ”Breaking the Silence”. Since then the three piece rock band has been playing live shows all over Sweden and at the same time managed to become the first band ever to record a music video on the roof of Gothenburg’s biggest indoor arena aka Scandinavium. The music video was directed by Patric Ullaeus (In Flames, Europe, Sonic Syndicate) and is available on YouTube for everyone to see.

In December the guys have released their latest album which is called “Re-Evolution”. Now they are touring with Hardcore Superstar and present their music live. The guys played for about forty minutes warming up the audience and rocking with them. Thriving rock music the trio played for their fans and all that would become fans today. Talking with the audience in between the songs made band and audience grow together closer. The songs were catchy, and as Nitrodive played a Ramones cover, they got the audience for sure. The guys moved around on stage and animating the audience to go along. Whether it was singing or simply clapping, the audience did it all for Nitrodive. A nicely spent forty minutes.

Hardcore SuperstarUp next was Hardcore Superstar. Hardcore Superstar is a hard rock band from Gothenburg, Sweden. The band was formed in 1997 and continue on today. Hardcore Superstar have had several #1 hit singles, and Grammy wins in Sweden. In April the Swedes will release their brand new album “HCSS”. So they were presenting quite some new songs. But the guys started out with an old classic. “We Don’t Celebrate Sundays” got the party started and the fans dancing and singing along to the music big time. While Hardcore Superstar was playing their newest pieces you could see the audience grow quiet and focused, observing the new and then cheering out loud afterwards because they liked it.

When Hardcore Superstar came to their hits, the fans were going wild, dancing and singing along, cheering out very loud, clapping along to the beat and having a blast. One of their songs the Swedes dedicated to their recently lost friend. The guys talked a lot between songs, thanking the audience for coming out to the live shows and buying albums, because that is what keeps the bands alive. The audience appreciated these kind words with loud cheering. There was no second of standing still while the Swedes were on stage. Closer to the end of their performance Hardcore Superstar got a couple girls up to drink shots with them and dance for a song.

After a little over an hour the guys left the stage. But the audience did not want it to be over so they shouted for an encore. And they got it. Another set of three songs. A brilliant night. It is always worth coming out for Hardcore Superstar because it always is a blast. Keep your eyes and ears open for the upcoming album “HCSS” which will be released on April 22nd.
