Emergency Gate – Infected

Releasedate: 26-09-2014; Label: Fastball Music
By: Sabine van Gameren

Emergency Gate is a German formation that makes Melodic Death with Metalcore influences. The band is active since 1996. The band came with the release: “You” in 2013 and about a year later returns with a next full length album called: “Infected” which is out now.

So the guys are back with a new release. Last time we noticed the band took a big step forward with their album “You” so we surely are interested in this release. The band plays a diversity of styles blended to a recognizable sound with a little bit of their own face on it, which makes the whole interesting to listen. The band’s strongest points are found in the instrumental mix. They found the right balance in which all can shine and yet strengthen each other. The compositions are interesting enough and so the album flows nicely. A bit of a deal breaker may be the vocals. They don’t always come out as strong as the rest of the band and perhaps could be a bit more controlled here and there.
The band did overgrow their previous release this time again but with the point mentioned, you may wonder if they are at their limits. “Infected” is a fine release but what will be next?
