Tyred Eyes – Elevator

Releasedate: 15-09-2013; Label: Gaphals, Alien Snatch! Records, Alleycat Records
By: Sabine van Gameren

Tyred Eyes are a band formed in 2009. They have their homebase in Sweden and make Alternative Rock. This year they release their album called “Elevator”.

The first song seems so calm. So quiet, pop rock-ish with the sweet lady voice bringing in some words. Then after a few minutes you are hoping for it to become a bit more energetic perhaps, a bit more exciting and it does not really do so. Disappointing.
Next some male vocals come it, not really giving it much extra punch so it becomes a bit critical. After two songs not a single point found that makes me want to continue listening or make me feel excited at all. Instrumentally quite minimal so not that much special either.
Almost at the end of the release we find a little spark of hope in a more vibrant song called “Wasted Lies”, a pop song that has to potential to be one of the songs that sets the atmosphere in a live setting. Perhaps that is what it is. Is this music maybe more to be experienced live rather than listening the album. Maybe they bring it more alive when brought from a stage.

We are sorry to say that “Elevator” did not lift our spirits. It was plain said: boring.
