Supreme Lord – Father Kaos

Releasedate: 25-11-2011; Label: Witching Hour
By: Sabine van Gameren

Supreme Lord dates back to 1991, a long existence but without too many releases. A couple of demo’s and one full length in 2004. Right at the end of 2011 the band came with a second full length on the market.

Aggressive Death Metal with balls, the musicians got back in time and took the best out of it to embrace in within their nowadays sound. Sets you up with a quite raw, brutal and Old school sound. Occasionally the band starts playing around with tempo’s to bring the variation into it and these solo’s you hear for example in “Shame Ov God” are quite a pleasant surprise. They basically fall in unexpected but leave you with a good feeling on it, it works. Vocals in this formation are raw and right as you may expect it, so not that much of a surprise here. The band is maybe not bringing the most original tunes with the three covers included on the album you quite get an idea of their references as well, but overall the band brings a decent quality release that listens easily. Just a good confidential Death Metal sound that you will not get bored with.
