The formation Icon In Me is coming from Russia. The band is active since 2007 and makes Thrash Metal. Currently the band released their second full length release.

“Head Break Solution” is an album that has a modern edge according the band self. Well certainly they have, A little love towards the modern Melodic Death Metal is certainly there, but yet this Thrash side of them is mainly what makes their sound. What you get are guitarriffs that are all fast and out breaking in solo’s here and there, but maybe not the most original around. The band have made it all into their own blend of favourites which turns out quite well and yet it is good to recognize a little of their own in here as well.
Furthermore the band advertises with the various guest appearances on the album; Glen Drover, Anders Björler and Olof Mörck to name a few. Yes, interesting names to add to the band’s own sound, but maybe the band did not really need all these artists after all. At the end of the album you are surely satisfied but maybe you wanted a little more. The songs are all a bit alike and some deeper variation would have spiced it up some more. Nice and pleasant album, but the band could have got more out of it as well.
