Thunderblast is a band from Colombia that was known under the name Sidereal before. In 2004 the band changed their name to Thunderblast. The guys make Heavy Metal since and in 2011 they come with their second full length release “Invaders From Another World”.
Thunderblast comes with a traditional Heavy Metal sound, combined with a more modern production that often makes the twist between the two a bit silly. And speak about silly, Heavy metal with a horror theme, that would often go into different genres but with what these guys do is bring it into their own sound making their music a little more unique with it. A decent speed comes with them, having a little Power Metal touch in them also in the way these guitars are integrated in the sound. After listening to this release for a couple of times you more and more start to get used to the oddities that are there, leaving a bigger smile every time. Good to see that there is still someone trying to make something new. With an album full song that are quite well composed, decent musician ship we can only conclude that “Invaders From Another World” is an album that is worth to try out, a surprising release from Colombia!
