Silenzio – Silenzio

Releasedate: 21-05-2008; Label:Self release / Club Inferno Promotion
By: Sabine van Gameren

The Italian Prog/power metal band Silenzio mostly surprised me with their self titled release. The band is born in 2005 and brings some strong tunes.

“Silenzio” contains four songs, the shortest track “Visions From Tomorrow” lasts for 5.09 minutes. Influences of bands like Dream Theater and Stratovarius are a recognizable factor in their music. But in these four songs, each song has different references. Though, it all fits together. The songs are not four different songs placed on one disc, but belong together.
Instrumentally, the band is fast and technical. It is one of the most bounding elements here. It is there and it has to be there to impress you. The vocals of Daniele De Alberti are very well implemented in the music. I did have to listen quite carefully to get where he is singing about. If lyrics are important for you while listening music, then you won’t have an easy job by listening to Silenzio. When you go for the overall sound or rather the instrumental part then I can guarantee you that Silenzio is a band worth to check out!

They impressed me with this release. The WOW factor was definitely there when I heard “Silenzio” for the first time and I actually look forward hearing more from them.
