Billion Dollar Babies – First Ever Live Show – Flint

[schema type=”review” name=”Billion Dollar Babies – First Ever Live Show – Flint” description=”Label: Gonzo Distribution” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2017-12-31″ ]Billion Dollar Babies is a band with Alice Cooper members after Alice Cooper’s front man took the project as his own. The rest of the founding members went on with the name Billion Dollar Babies. The guys recorded one album (“Battle Axe”) and did a bunch of live shows. The very first live show, in 1977 got recorded and anno 2017 the time is there to release it as an album. And so, fourty years later we have this piece of history in our hands to listen to.

The look of the album would not suggest it dates back this long. It could be a young band in the scene as the artwork is done nicely. Sure, a second look will tell you different, but they have put some time into giving it some charm. On the release, you hear the songs as they were that time. Raw and wild. Some of those you know very well, the current Alice Cooper band is playing them still regularly and they have become classics. “No More Mr Nice Guy”, “School’s Out” are there to give you a touch of nostalgia but there is more to find for the new generation of rockers.

The recording of this show is surely not the cleanest, but for the heritage of rock it is one you would like to own. Interesting to see they brought it out after all these years.
