Tonight’s the night. And the Schlachthof in Wiesbaden is the place to be. Sold out house tonight to celebrate some fellas from Berlin stopping by. I am talking about the Beatsteaks.
Beatsteaks is a punk rock band from Berlin, Germany, formed in 1995.Peter Baumann, Stefan Hircher, Alexander Rosswaag and Bernd Kurtzke founded Beatsteaks in 1995. Shortly afterwards, Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß joined the band as singer and additional guitarist. In 1996, the band won a local music competition in SO36 and played as opening act for the Sex Pistols at a concert in Berlin.
This was also the band’s tenth live performance. A lot has happened since then. Earlier this year they have released a brand new album which is called “Yours” and now they are rocking the venues with their new music.
The venue was packed with fans and families. Everyone was ready to rock with the boys from Berlin. And they all would. From the very second on the band entered the stage until the very last. The band as well as the audience was unable to stand still for a second. They sung along to every word and melody. Beatsteaks were amazed and thankful for that, animating them to go along more and more. And everyone did. Soon the air was hot and everyone was soaked in sweat. But no one cared.
Beatsteaks played old and new songs, but definitely all their hits. The singer was moving around on stage and climbing up on boxes and speakers, when he was not playing guitar. The rest of the band members rocked their instruments. You could feel the joy and passion these guys are still having after all those years.
Beatsteaks played for about two hours with quite some songs as encore. No one wanted this night to end, but eventually it had to. This band is a fantastic live band. Make sure to check them out when you have the chance.
