Blind Hen – Life

Finnish Rock formation Blind Hen is taking a look at the past for their influence. As diverse they are there is some prog, some 80’s, some stoner even and then they created “Life” with it.

“Life” is an EP that shows the diversity of the band. When they go into the intenser melodic moments they have material that could do well in charts. Poppy, catchy and easy to sing along. But when they dig a bit deeper, often in the slower moments the whole gets a bit off the road. Rockier, more for one who likes to listen deeper. So these two sides are in quite a contrast with eachother. Yet they come together in a song. To get that going it is import to know when to end one part and switch to the other. It seems they have a good understanding of that, the songs are balanced, sometimes a bit on the edge, but in general turn out quite listenable for a wide range of listeners.

So good that they can embed that experiment, to step away from the obvious paths and put themselves in there. Gives them an identity of their own. If they keep that going, we are sure we’ll see them around plenty!
