Gotthard – Silver

[schema type=”review” name=”Gotthard – Silver” description=”Label: PIAS” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2017-01-13″ ]
Gotthard is a band from Switzerland that has been around about 25 years. Their Hardrock music has been on the top of the charts for many years and a new release is there to celebrate their 25 years of existence. “Silver” is out now.

With so many albums that scored well, it is a surprise to see them call their album “Silver” as you might have thought gold would be more suitable. Time to see what kind of noble metal we think of with this album in our hands.
It starts quite right, with a catchy tunes, lyrics that you pick up right away. “Silver River” is a nice one to open the album, but what it does have is a bit of a stereotype, it is not something exceptionally or innovating. Just some feel good rock and that is ok. It is simply showing you what to expect from this release. Here and there the guys slow it a bit down, taking time to have a slower song to hit you, which creates diversity and that is what keeps you listening. Most remarkable song is the track “My oh My” which showcases the whole band on its best.

“Silver” celebrates the band’s existence and it has quite different faces of themselves on there. It is never really surprising, but always on well thought compositions. It’s an album that listens pleasantly and makes your day a little happier!
