Ever gotten the feeling rock music has started to feel a bit… safe? Meet SHVPES: the Birmingham-founded sonic alchemists kicking down doors to drag heavy music out of its comfort zone and into the great beyond. Since emerging from the ashes of Cytota, the group have become leaders of the new guard – forging a chemical wedding of noise that defies all notion of genre and boundary. This is their debut album.

The brand new album is called “Pain. Joy. Ecstasy. Despair” and comes with eleven songs. The vocal styles strongly remind of Zebrahead. The vocals are split up between sung and shouted vocals. The rhythms are catchy and the pace differs for chorus and verse. The album varies between loud songs and some that are more settled. But all songs on this album will get you going along. The choruses will get stuck in your head, so will the rhythms. The rhythms are perfect to go along to. Whether it is head banging, a simple nod or simply swaying along, this music will get you moving.

“Pain. Joy. Ecstasy. Despair” comes with eleven songs that you will enjoy listening to. The album lasts for forty minutes and will leave you nothing less but impressed, with the urge to hit play again. So go check out the debut album by SHVPES and love it.
