Nidhöggr – Ragnarök

Nidhöggr is a Swedish Black Metal band. The guys formed a few years ago and got to the release of a first demo. About half a year later we hear from them again and suddenly we have a full length in our hands. It is called “Ragnarök”

The band remained with the traditional Black Metal in there but won a lot in strength on several parts. At first on the atmospherical side. All is balanced well. The vocals are giving you a better incentive to keep listening. The go a bit deeper and drag you into it all a bit more. The instrumental part gives a bit better backing than what we heard on the demo. They iciness that they have put into there is represented again and taken to the next level, which also has to do with the fact that with some more material you simply sink into it deeper.
The second thing that the band scores with is the variation. Playing around with the tempo a bit and making sure that these songs aren’t too alike they are getting at a point that many won’t get.

Simply said as before, this band knows what they want to bring and so bring a confident sound. The album is interesting for the variation and the skills that they put into it, it is surely in the top of the scene. A very nice debut full length from these Swedes, one that will keep playing!
