The Shiva Hypothesis is a band from Netherlands. The Black/Death group says to be inspired by acts like Emperor, Behemoth, Immortal etc. They released an unnamed promo.

The three songs we received have been recorded when their vocalist was found and so a first introduction to the band. A pleasant one, so to say. The band had taken the time to listen carefully to their mentioned influences and gain some strong parts from them. A somewhat calm start drags us into the dark and yet aggressive sound they bring. A tease, sometimes you wait for the tempo to pick up but they remain with what they started. Most interesting track is the last one “Maze of Delusion” . The over 9 minute counting track has a lot of variation in it and seem to have just a little more than the other two songs on the release. This seem to be something that they could grow on, the first songs are fine, but could use more of that to stand out a bit more.

Even though the promo is a bit short it is one that awakes interest. Here and there they seem still a bit experimenting and some fine-tuning could strengthen what they have but overall we would certainly be interested in hearing more of this band. They are off with a good start at least.
