Diary Of Dreams have just released a brand new album. “Grau Im Licht” is the name of this album. And now the band was presenting this very album live.

Touring through Germany, Diary Of Dreams also stopped in a town nearby. The Batschkapp was filled half way. More people kept coming throughout the opening act. But you could feel the tragedy that happened in Paris was still hanging in the air, and probably kept some fans from coming out tonight.

The Swiss band Beauty Of Gemina was opening for them. The electronic alternative band was founded in 2006 and have been busy recording and touring ever since. Playing for about forty minutes, the Swiss band rocked the audience. The light was dim and the band filled with energy. All the years of band history brought some experience along. Experience you could feel while watching the guys on stage. Beauty Of Gemina talked to the audience in-between and told stories.

The audience cheered and sang along to the songs. The fans even requested songs. The melodies were so catchy that the audience danced along to the sounds. Electronic music meets rock and pop. Beauty Of Gemina even played a “Country Goth Song”. A brilliant performance that unfortunately had to come to an end.

Now it was time for the main act: The German dark wave band Diary Of Dreams. Being active for more than twenty years, the band has quite some stage experience and always tries to make the shows a little different and new. Tonight the band caged the drummer in the back. Hidden by a black sheet for the intro of the first song, the drummer was light from behind, creating a focus point in the center of the stage. Diary Of Dreams opened with a dark and melancholic song, pulling the audience into their world immediately.

With dim lights and a lot of fog the band kept the mysterious impression. With little talk in between the songs, Diary Of Dreams somehow seemed to keep a distance form the audience but still created a familiar feeling with their music. Strong vocals along with catchy melodies got you going along, unable to resist. Diary Of Dreams played old and new songs, off their first albums and of course, several songs off their latest album, “Grau Im Licht”.

It was a brilliant show on a dark Monday evening. Diary Of Dreams know how to impress the audience with their appearance and show in general. Always a pleasure.
