Forte Ruin is A Melodic Death Metal formation from Finland. They founded in 2011 and took their time to find their way. Anno 2015 the band comes with a first EP called “Forte Ruin”.

The band states clearly they have been influenced by different genre’s, yes that’s clear. At first you think, ok that must be some Children of Bodom but then the melodic parts come in a bit more and you may think… Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum. Of course they aren’t too far of each other, but the fast switching teaches us they have looked around well to see what they could take an bring it together. Making that blend into something new is another thing, but the guys are on the right track with that as well. The EP has three tracks and unavoidably makes you hope for more. “Alienated Humanity” is giving you the introduction in which the clean vocals are the most surprising part. They flow well with the rest and when you then calmly fall into a guitarsolo you realize the guys are giving time to every element.
“45 Days” seems a bit more energetic but at first sight less catchy. One that fills in nicely in a release, but is not the most attracting song. Also when you think about them live. The closer comes with “Enter The Masquerade” which has all that in there. Catchiness, a song you want to see live and experience. One that could set name for them.

Forte Ruin is a band that gives an excellent EP, with the blend they have going on they are slightly apart from their influences and yet not too radically different. With the quality of it we are more than happy so we look forward hearing more from them.
