Monster Magnet released several albums throughout their career. After a remastered version of “Last Patrol” named: “Milking The Stars: A Re-Imagining Of Last Patrol” the band seems to become excited about re-doing their albums. This time the band is coming with “Cobras and Fire (The Mastermind Redux)”

It is to be said that this releases offers the fans a complete new experience of this album, but let’s face it: the majority of people are not happy with change. Is their favourite website changing their design, there is nothing but complains about it and do they praise the previous as being so much better. So the question is, how many people will be enjoying an album that is radically different whilst being a true Monster Magnet classic? Well maybe you are up for a surprise. The band has created a rather trippy version of their music, taking characteristic elements and make them a caricature. Something little becomes something big while what has been big may be gone now. Coldheartedly replaced for a new experience. In essence, it has become a whole new album.

Monster Magnet may be on a different road now, but at least they don’t give their fans an album that’s only slightly modified, just for the cash. It has some severe work into it and whether you appreciate the trippy material may be a second one, but you could safely say you get a new experience by buying the disc.
